With summer here, the Fort Detrick Provost Marshal Office would like to remind Fort Detrick personnel of the likely increase in motorcyclists on the road during the long holiday weekend. With a rise in Department of the Army accidents, it is important to be aware of our surroundings and implement safe practices to prevent future accidents.

Fort Detrick is an installation with a lot of heart and at the center of it are its volunteers. Last year almost 300 volunteers reported over 20,600 hours spent in service to organizations both on post and in the communities surrounding Fort Detrick and this number continues to grow each year as volunteers begin to recognize the value of their service.

Fort Detrick's 2010 Drinking Water Quality Report is available for community review. The report summarizes water quality information collected by water suppliers to comply with drinking water regulations.

Thanks for the Memories
What a fabulous time the last three years have been! I was indeed blessed to have been given not only the chance to lead here at Fort Detrick, but to stay so long. As most of you may know my time is drawing to a close with the Change of Command on 15 July. I wanted to therefore take this opportunity to share some thoughts with you.

Construction has begun on our Access Control Points at Forest Glen. This project is critical in making Forest Glen more safe and secure. Every step has been taken to minimize the impact of this construction project to our community.

For the third consecutive year Fort Detrick and the Frederick Community came together to celebrate military pageantry and recognize the outstanding support and effort of the Soldiers of the U.S. Army.
