Forest Glen On Social Media
By: Nick Minecci, USAG Public Affairs

SILVER SPRING, Md. - Fort Detrick Forest Glen Annex has two new ways of communicating with the workforce on social media, keeping the community informed about weather related delays or closings, community information and easier communication from leadership.

The new Forest Glen Annex page on Facebook can be accessed by going to https://www.facebook.com/ForestGlenAnnex, clicking the button that says “Like” and messages will appear in your timeline specific to Forest Glen.

“The Forest Glen page is a nice companion to the Fort Detrick USAG page on Facebook, and allows the people in Silver Spring and the people in Frederick to stay informed and share information,” said William J. Crane, Garrison Manager, US Army Garrison Forest Glen.

A new site has also been added to Twitter, @ForestGlenAnnex. Twitter is a social networking service that allows people or organizations to send short text messages 140 characters in length, called “tweets.”

To follow the @ForestGlenAnnex messages, sign up for Twitter, search for the Forest Glen Annex account and hit the “Follow” button.

“Tweets from the Forest Glen Annex account will go to your computer, phone or wherever you have it set up to receive them,” Crane said. “Using social media allows us to get word about important information and events to our community 24 hours a day. This is especially important as we are in the winter season and people who may get up at 5 a.m. can have closure or delay information waiting for them,” he added.
