‘Strong Beginning’ Class 2012

Congratulations ‘Strong Beginning’ Class 2012!! The Forest Glen/Silver Spring Child Development Center Strong beginning class held their 3rd commencement ceremonies on June 8 at the FG Sports Complex.
Nineteen students celebrated their accomplishments and will be entering kindergarten in the fall. The Strong Beginning program is design for pre-school age kids to help prepare them for Kindergarten with a curriculum that focuses on the social, emotional, physical development of children and equips them with basic academics and students learn “Kindergarten Classroom Etiquette” skills to enhance “school readiness.”
The students shared the ceremony with family and friends as each child wore cap & gowns, received a diploma and a DVD of their school year. They also participated in the traditional “tossing of the caps.” Deb Daubenhauser, chief MWR and Tomoko Dangerfield, CYSS coordinator, handed out the Diplomas. Capt. Farah Jayman, one of the graduate’s parents, was the guest speaker.
Del’Bria Castelow first year, Strong Beginnings instructor, coordinated the ceremony, made the decorations and provided the musical selections.
