Military Appreciation Night with the Frederick Keys

Fort Detrick participated in Military Appreciation Night with the Frederick Keys at Nymeo Field Aug. 18. During the event, Fort Detrick Garrison Commander Col. Bob O’Brien gave welcoming remarks, thanking the crowd for their continued support of Fort Detrick and all Service Members. He also took the opportunity to recognize Vietnam Veterans in honor of the 50th anniversary of the war. The Fort Detrick Color Guard presented the colors while Lt. Col. Deon Green sang the National Anthem, and several Soldiers participated in “Anthem Buddies”, where they were given the chance to take the field with the players during the National Anthem. First pitches were thrown out by Fort Detrick’s own Spc. Melanie Ray and Vietnam Veteran Michael Soto
