Fort Detrick Color Guard

Color Guard

The Fort Detrick Army Color Guard has a long tradition of serving the military and civilian communities of Frederick and surrounding counties and provides myriad of honors services. This all-volunteer group is focused towards recognition ceremonies specifically for the Army units assigned to Fort Detrick in addition to performing honors recognition for Veterans Day parades, Veterans dedication ceremonies, Flag Retirement ceremonies, sporting events and other celebrations throughout the surrounding communities. In addition to these services, this all-volunteer team provides ceremonial recognition to the city of Frederick, surrounding communities and local Veterans organizations.

Request Color Guard

It is important to submit requests for Color Guard support at least 30 days in advance of a scheduled event.

Because of the dynamics of Fort Detrick and the diverse missions each service endures it is not always possible to obtain the services of the Color Guard. Requests will be validated and assigned based on availability of personnel from the assigned services. If the Fort Detrick Color Guard cannot commit to a request, the requesting organization/person will be notified by Fort Detrick Public Affairs.
