NOTICE:

The Post Library will have new carpet installed during the week of 17-26 February 2012 and will be closed for this short duration. The Leisure Travel Office will temporary operate out of Classroom 3 in Building 1520, across the hall from the Library, during their regular business hours, 0930-1630, Monday through Friday. February 20 is a Federal Holiday and the Travel Office will be closed. Sorry for the temporary service disruption.

Where in the World is Duckie?

Each month the Post Library will hand out "Where in the World is Duckie??" contest flyer [PDF]. Have your child(ren) write down their answers and then return it back to the Poster Library, Building 1520. Or, if you child(ren) is at Child Development Center (CDC) or Youth Services (YS), have them return it there. The Post Library will randomly select winners from entries collected at the Post Library, CDC, and YS. Winners will receive a certificate to come to the Post Library to pick a prize from their Treasure Box. For more information, call 301-619-2839/7519.


New Resources

The Post Library and the Army Community Service (ACS) Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) now have new books on such topics as autism, cancer, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Down’s syndrome, and overall special needs. Some of the books are intended for children to understand the special need. Some are for adults. Feel free to come by the Post Library to borrow the books. You do not have to be enrolled in the EFMP to borrow these books. For more information, call 301-619-3385/2892.

Library Cards

Patrons will use their government issued ID Card as a library card. Active Duty Military, Retirees, and their family member, on-post government civilians, and contractors are eligible to use the Post Library. Family members must be listed in the sponsor's file.

Renewals:

Renewals may be made either in person or by telephone prior to the due date.

Overdue Items:

In compliance with our regulations we cannot charge patrons for overdue items. Patrons with overdue item/items will not be able to check out any new items until the overdue items have been returned.

Patrons with 7 overdue notices will be suspended for
three months.

If overdue item is damaged or lost it the patron's responsibility to replace the item.

To prevent suspensions, you may call the Library Circulation to renew the material.

Computer use

Post Library has six computers for our patrons use with Internet Access. Five of the computers are CAC and
print-enabled.

Children under the age of 13 will not be allowed computer access unless accompanied by an adult or guardian.

We ask that you limit your use to one hour in order to accommodate everyone. These are government computers and are subject to monitoring.

Check out our DVD and CD selections. You don't have to pay anything to borrow from us! We have the latest list of New York Times' Bestsellers. Find the book you are looking for here. We offer the Interlibrary Loan Service (ILL) and have over 17,000 libraries in this system to borrow from. You must come to the Library in person to fill out an ILL request.
