The National Park Service has announced once again for ACTIVE duty military and their dependents free entry to the National Parks. ACTIVE duty military members and their dependents can pick up a free annual pass at any national park that charges an entry fee. is an Armed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC) located in Central Florida. The newly expanded Shades of Green is one of two AFRC's located in the continental U.S. The Shades of Green Resort is a true resort destination; offering the perfect mix of exceptional resort accommodations and friendly hospitality.
For 60 Years, the Armed Forces Recreation Centers in Europe have supported the European Command with Rest and Recreation locations for U.S. Service Members and their families in the Beautiful Bavarian Alps. Established in the winter of 1945-46 as an R&R center for the U.S. Occupation Forces, AFRC immediately initiated programs to enhance the morale of the war weary soldiers.
