Student Research Opportunities at the
U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases

The United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases has opportunities for student participation in laboratory research. Students gain hands-on laboratory experience and scientific knowledge while contributing to a vital national mission in bio-defense.

Research opportunities are available full-time in the summer and part-time during the fall and spring semesters. Prospective students may be from undergraduate or graduate degree programs.

Depending on student interests and their educational institution's program, students may receive class credit for their research participation. The research opportunities may be a paid position or a volunteer position.

CAP's Wounded Service Member Initiative would like to share the following information:

Milicruit and Hire Heroes have created a virtual career fair for veterans. Unlike traditional career fairs that require travel to an actual location, a struggle with long lines, and a short time with recruiters, the milicruit virtual career fair allows you to interact with recruiters as if in person, but from the convenience of your personal computer. The virtual career fair is available 24/7 for an entire month.

Registration and participation is FREE to all veterans! Meet with employers such as Verizon, GE, Target, Booz Allen Hamilton, and many more!

Advanced registration is required to attend the virtual career fair.

Questions answered about new gate access policy

Fort Detrick is changing the hours of operation for several of its entry gates Jan. 17, to help improve safety and ease of use for all employees, families and visitors.

The change will make Old Farm gate available for visitors and deliveries 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This gate is the only gate authorized for visitors and deliveries, however, all others can still use this gate and any of the other open gates.

At 7:30 a.m. on a Thursday morning at Frederick, Maryland's Linganore High School, cadets from the Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps mustered for command inspection.

CBMS opens first eco-friendly headquarters on Fort Detrick

A newly constructed, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-eligible building opened on Fort Detrick to serve as the headquarters for the Chemical Biological Medical Systems Joint Project Management Office and elements of the Naval Medical Research Center. The facility, which was celebrated in a ribbon cutting ceremony in Dec., is the newest LEED-eligible building constructed on Fort Detrick.
