The Inbound/Outbound Personal Property & Travel Services are located in building 1520. They provide guidance, shipping documents, passports and travel information to all Active Military, Family Members and DoD Civilians. Upon arrival to Ft. Detrick or upon receipt of orders contact this office immediately to set up an appointment, DO NOT WAIT, there are no guarantees to get your required shipping dates (YOU MUST HAVE ORDERS TO SCHEDULE) The busiest months for the shipping industry is April through October.

When you pick up the POV at the destination terminal, you must have:
- Proper ID card
- Copy of DD Form 788 (Private Vehicle Shipping Document)
- Complete set of keys
- Power of attorney if your spouse picks up the POV

Time limitations:
- POVs will be accepted for shipment if delivered to the port within 90 days after the member or dependent has departed for an overseas tour.
- When delivery to the port is delayed beyond 90 days, the POV may be shipped only with written approval of the overseas commander.
- For overseas tours of more than one year, you must have a minimum of one year to serve on the current overseas tour when the POV is delivered to the port.
Size limitation:
Not exceed 20 measurement tons. Exceptions may be granted for medical reasons. A measurement ton equals 40 cubic feet. A compact care averages about nine measurement tons; a full-size care, about 15.
Directions to the Terminal:
From the west: Approaching Baltimore on I-70, exit onto I-695 South (Baltimore Beltway) at the Baltimore/Glen Burnie exit (Exit 91A). Follow signs to Key Bridge/Dundalk. Cross the Key Bridge and take the first exit after the toll booth (Exit 44, Dundalk Ave). Continue to the second traffic light (approx 2.2 miles). Turn left into the Dundalk Marine Terminal "Track/Cargo Entrance".
From the south: From I-295 north, take I-695 Glen Burnie exit and follow I-695 to Key Bridge/Dundalk. After crossing the Key Bridge, follow the same directions as those from the west.
From the north: From I-83, enter the Baltimore Bellway (I-695 East) and proceed to exit 33. Exit onto I-95 South . Proceed on I-95 South for approx 3.5 miles. At this point, the interstate splits. Follow the signs to East Baltimore and the truck route to S.E. Baltimore and Marine Terminal Signs. Stay on I-95 to Keith Ave (Exit 56). At the first intersection after you exit, turn left onto Keith Ave. Follow Keith Ave. for about 8 miles until it empties onto Broening Highway. Proceed on Broening Highway to the fourth traffic light, passing on your right the Point Breeze Building and the Seagirt Marine Terminal. Turn right into the "Truck/Cargo entrance " of the Dundalk Marine Terminal.
From I-95 north: After passing through the Fort McHenry Tunnel, take the first exit after the toll booth (Exit 56, Keith Ave). Then, follow the same directions as those from the north.
