Freight Operations
The Freight Section provides the transportation of small package (FEDEX, UPS) and freight shipments for all of garrison and mission partners located at Fort Detrick. Shipments include both domestic and international, biological (perishable) and hazardous materials. We assist in the deployment of the various Units located at Fort Detrick.
The Freight Section provides pick-up services for small packages (twice daily) and coordinates the transport of larger cargo from organizations to and from on and off-site locations. To coordinate small package pick up please call 301-619-3397 NLT 1030 for morning pick up and 1330 for afternoon pick up.
If assistance is needed to ship small package or freight our office requires a DD 1149 (Requisition and Invoice/Shipping Document) along with the TAC (Transportation Accounting Code) for payment. Packages must be received NLT 1445 daily.
