Youth Sponsorship

Youth Sponsorship is a program where youth who are already living in the Washington, DC/Maryland/Virginia area are "buddied up" with a youth who is coming to the area from another state, country or installation.

Purpose of the Program - A move to a new area can be difficult for anyone - especially children. The purpose of Youth Sponsorship is to make the transition a little easier for children by matching them with another child who may have also gone through similar experiences of moving. The Walter Reed youth can tell the incoming child about their school, social activities and sports in the area, as well as where the malls and other fun places are for youth.

Participation - If you would like for your child to be assigned a Youth Sponsor, contact Child, Youth & School Services at:

2461 Linden Lane
Bldg 161
Silver Spring 20910

Contact Number 301-295-7548 or 301-295-7540.
