Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) Civilians
What's a NAF job?
NAF — Nonappropriated Funds — positions include a variety of occupations paid from funds generated from sales, fees, and charges to authorized patrons. NAF employees play an important role in providing MWR services to military personnel and their family members. Army clubs, guest houses, child care centers, craft shops, bowling centers, swimming pools, gymnasiums, and many other NAF activities employ a considerable number of employees at most Army installations and contribute to the overall quality of life. This category comprises U.S. civilians; foreign nationals, usually from the local labor market; and enlisted service personnel working part-time during off-duty hours. All compete for employment on the basis of merit.
NAF positions include Human Resource management, Physical Fitness, Child Development, Trades and Crafts positions, Food and Beverage Management, Golf and Bowling, Recreation, Hotels and Lodging, as well as a variety of clerical and administrative jobs. NAF positions are worldwide and provide vital support to our Soldiers, their Families and our Civilian employees.
Fort Detrick Family and MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation) — MWR programs and services that directly support soldiers, families, retirees, and civilians.
