BOSS Mission Statement

Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers/Servicemembers (BOSS) is a Department of Army driven program that supports the overall quality of life for single and unaccompanied soldiers. With representatives from each unit, BOSS gives single soldiers/servicemembers the opportunity to enhance their quality of life through community service, recreation and leisure, and working with the support of the chain of command to identify quality of life issues and concerns, and providing improvements. The BOSS Council meets every First and Third Monday, 1500-1600 in Bldg. 1532, Dayroom. Any single soldier interested in participating is encouraged to attend the meetings or see your unit representatives.

BOSS Meeting
Dates: 1st, and 3rd Tuesdays
Time: 1500-1600
Location: Bldg. 1520, Café Too!
Description: All single service members are welcome to attend. For more information please submit your questions via e-mail to the BOSS Program, USAGBOSS@amedd.army.mil. We need everyone's participation in order to have successful programs.

Inspections
Dates: 1st Friday
Time: 0800-1200
Location: Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing (UEPH)
Description: Inspections of the Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing (UEPH), also know as the barracks will be conducted by the Garrison Command Sergeant Major on the 1st Friday of every month. Inspections are from 0800 to 1200. Please see you NCO Support Channel or BOSS representative for additional information.

Questions answered about new gate access policy

Fort Detrick is changing the hours of operation for several of its entry gates Jan. 17, to help improve safety and ease of use for all employees, families and visitors.

The change will make Old Farm gate available for visitors and deliveries 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This gate is the only gate authorized for visitors and deliveries, however, all others can still use this gate and any of the other open gates.

Linganore High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Standby for Inspection

“Atten-hup.”

This is a cadence call one might hear while working on a military installation, but not what one would expect to hear in the middle of a gymnasium with 100 high school students.

At 7:30 a.m. on a Thursday morning at Frederick, Maryland's Linganore High School, cadets from the Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps mustered for command inspection.

CBMS opens first eco-friendly headquarters on Fort Detrick

A newly constructed, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-eligible building opened on Fort Detrick to serve as the headquarters for the Chemical Biological Medical Systems Joint Project Management Office and elements of the Naval Medical Research Center. The facility, which was celebrated in a ribbon cutting ceremony in Dec., is the newest LEED-eligible building constructed on Fort Detrick.
