Distance learning is a convenient alternative to regular courses, providing equivalent substance and quality without the traditional constraints of time and place.

Army tuition assistance is available for regionally or nationally accredited institutions and only for courses that are part of a soldier's educational goal. Counselors are available at the ACES Education Center to assist you to obtain tuition assistance to meet your established educational goal. State-of-the art Computer Based Training available for free to the Army Workforce

At no cost to the individual or their organization, all active duty soldiers, members of the National Guard or Reserves, Department of the Army civilian employees, and USMA and ROTC cadets are authorized to access over 1,500 Information Technology, Business Skills, and Interpersonal Skills courses from any location, around the clock (24/7). Tuition assistance may be available to active duty service members for these programs. If interested, please visit an education counselor at the ACES Education Center, building 1520.

DANTES: Certified Protection Professional (CPP) program

DANTES has added a new certification program, the American Society of International Security (ASIS) to the inventory of available exams for military personnel. The ASIS provides certification as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP).

The need for competent professionals who can effectively manage complex security issues has increased as the emphasis on protecting people, property, and information has been strengthened. Military personnel in the MOS of Military Police, Corrections Officer, Master at Arms, Internment/Resettlement Specialist, CID, NIS and Law Enforcement Officers might benefit from this certifying credential. This new program provides an excellent opportunity for the soldiers of Fort Detrick's Security Force to add to their professional development.
